Board of Directors

   

David McSweeney, Chairman and Non-Executive Director

David McSweeney is an experienced mining company executive who has worked in the resources sector for 20 years. His direct responsibilities have ranged from exploration to project management, project finance, commercial and legal structuring and corporate development. A founder of Gindalbie Metals Ltd, Mr McSweeney was the Managing Director from 1998 until December 2006. During his time at Gindalbie, he oversaw the discovery and commissioning of two successful gold production centres and the repositioning of the company as an emerging diversified Australian iron ore producer with a market capitalisation of ~A$340 million. Mr McSweeney is also a Director of Bauxite Resources Limited and Chairman of Aspire Mining Ltd.

     
   

Peter McSweeney, Managing Director

Peter McSweeney is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years international experience in resource development. His career at MSP has included senior project management roles in a number of significant Australian and offshore greenfield projects.

 

     

 

Craig Burton, Director

Craig is an experienced and active investor in start-up projects and businesses, both publicly listed and private. Over the last 15 years, he has been a co-founder of numerous development companies, with a focus on the resources, oil and gas, mining services and agribusiness sectors. Co-founder of two ASX 200 companies, Mirabela Nickel Ltd and Panoramic Resources Ltd, Craig is currently appointed as a Non Executive Director of Capital Drilling Limited, Every Day Mine Services Limited and is also a Director of MSP Engineering’s sister company, FeCon Limited. 

Craig holds Bachelor of Law and Jurisprudence degrees from the University of Western Australia and a Diploma of Financial Markets. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.   

 
 

Noel O'Brien, Technical Director

Noel holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Metallurgy from the University of Melbourne, an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, Noel is also a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  Noel is a former national Council member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and inaugural President of the Australia-South Africa Business Association.

Noel has specific expertise in smelting, mineral processing and project development over a diverse range of commodities, including ferroalloys, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, iron ore, uranium, chrome, manganese, diamonds, mineral sands and precious metals. 

Executive / Senior Management

 

Brett Grosvenor, Chief Executive Officer

Brett holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree and a Master of Business Administration.

Brett commenced the role of CEO in August 2012, after successfully completing the Talison Chemical Upgrade Project with MSP. As CEO, he is responsible for the ongoing operations of the MSP business, and works closely with the Managing Director and the board to develop and execute MSP business strategies.

Brett previously held corporate roles in Laing O'Rourke and Alinta Energy, and over the last 10 years has been responsible for the delivery of over $1 billion in project works.

 

Tony Sheard, Chief Financial Officer / Company Secretary 

Tony Sheard holds a B.Comm, MBA and Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and is a Fellow of both CPA Australia and FInancial Services Institue of Australasia. Tony Sheard has held senior financial roles in the resources and engineering secotor for over 20 years.

     
   

Ian Meintjes, Design Office Manager

Ian is a structural designer with 25 years' experience. He has worked extensively in the mining industry with a particular focus on mineral process plants over the past seven years. Ian has also been involved in oil and gas, commercial buildings, pulp and paper and earthworks. Business development is another area that he spent time in for a number of years. His qualifications include civil engineering and business management (MBA).

     
   

Daren Tetley, Construction Manager

Daren Tetley has over 15 years experience in frontline construction and site supervision roles in structural, mechanical and piping disciplines.
