Stage 2 Lithium Hydroxide Project Commences at Kwinana

MSP Engineering Pty Ltd (MSPE) is pleased to announce that it has commenced work on Stage 2 of the Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant at Kwinana in Western Australia.

Under a Letter of Intent (LOI) signed with Tianqi Lithium Australia Pty Ltd (TLA), MSPE placed orders for long lead items for Stage 2 and commenced engineering of the facility.

Stage 2 will be a duplication of Stage 1 and increase the output capacity of the Kwinana facility to 48,000tpa of the highest purity battery grade lithium hydroxide.

MSPE is the Lead EPC Contractor for Stage 1, which is well underway, with all major procurement item orders placed and construction contracts awarded or nearing award.  Construction activities on site are also well underway with civil works nearing completion and installation of structural, mechanical and piping packages ramping up.

Stage 2 is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019 and, like Stage 1, will be delivered with a strong focus on local content.

MSPE is also the Lead EPC Contractor delivering the Talison Lithium CGP2 project at Greenbushes in Western Australia.  The Greenbushes facility produces the primary lithium concentrates that will be processed at the Kwinana lithium hydroxide project.  The CGP2 project is on schedule for completion in the first quarter of 2019.
