Tianqi Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant – Stage 2 Commences

MSP Engineering Pty Ltd (MSPE) is pleased to announce that it officially commenced construction work on site for Stage 2 of the Tianqi Lithium Australia Pty Ltd (Tianqi) Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant Project at Kwinana.

Tianqi officially gave the green light to develop Stage 2, valued at circa $300M, in October 2017 and has already made over $50M in long lead order commitments.

The Stage 2 project is scheduled for commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2019 and, once complete, the Kwinana facility will have a capacity of 48,000tpa of high purity, battery grade lithium hydroxide and will be the world’s largest lithium hydroxide producer.

Local content on the project will be more than 80 percent, and Stage 2 will add a further 200 construction jobs for a project peak of 500.

MSPE is proud to be selected to lead both stages of this exciting project and work alongside Tianqi to safely deliver a world class, state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable project, which will support the continued expansion of the electric vehicle and new energy industries.
